Role Description:
As an Automation Engineer, you will be part of the Execution Systems department, supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS). You will ensure automation solutions meet GMP standards and optimize manufacturing performance.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and install BMS/EMS systems in line with cG(a)MP requirements
- Provide technical support and maintenance for BMS systems
- Coordinate vendors, subcontractors, and technical integrators
- Execute and review automation change controls and documentation
- Develop and validate protocols, test plans, and reports
- Update SOPs, work instructions, and system life cycle documentation
- Ensure compliance with GMP and safety standards in all automation tasks
- HBO degree in Industrial Automation or relevant engineering discipline
- 2–5 years of experience in the biotech/pharma industry, with GAMP knowledge
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with BMS systems (Honeywell preferred)
- Strong understanding of control philosophy and functional requirement writing
- Knowledge of Honeywell PLC HC900, EBI R600, Priva, and integration protocols is a plus
- Proficient in reading P&IDs and working with industrial instrumentation
- Fluency in Dutch and English is required
- VCA and NEN 3140 certifications are mandatory
