Role Description
Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in global health? You’ll contribute to the fight against major diseases. As part of the Engineering-Validation-Maintenance (EVM) department, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving safety standards across utilities, production, and lab areas. In this position, you'll serve as a subject matter expert in workplace safety practices, guiding the team to uphold and continuously enhance EHS performance.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining, overseeing, and continuously improving EHS systems, policies, and procedures, including permit-to-work, LOTOTO, working at height, and lifting operations.
- Serving as an internal expert, coaching and mentoring team members to strengthen the overall safety culture within the department.
- Conducting safety risk assessments and contributing to project-related EHS evaluations.
- Implementing and supporting company-wide and regulatory EHS standards and management systems.
- Actively participating in audits and inspections, both internal and external (e.g., ISO 14001:2015, audits, and government inspections).
- Leading or contributing to the investigation of safety incidents and near misses, ensuring root causes are addressed with sustainable solutions.
- Delivering training sessions on relevant EHS topics to promote awareness and compliance across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety roles, ideally within complex or highly regulated organizations.
- Solid understanding of EHS management systems, with hands-on experience in standards such as ISO 14001.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and manage change effectively through collaboration and leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage across all organizational levels.
- Certification as a Primary Safety Expert (HVK) or equivalent is a plus.
- Proficient in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
