The organization is a global healthcare company with a strong focus on advancing women’s health. The Oss location plays a vital role in the manufacturing and packaging of pharmaceutical products, operating through Integrated Process Teams (IPTs) and supported by specialized global expertise.

Role Description
As a Design Engineer Automation/IT, you will be embedded in Lifecycle Management (LCM) projects within our Business Technology team. You’ll work on-site in Oss, collaborating with local and global teams to upgrade, configure, and validate critical automation and IT systems. Your work will directly contribute to the continuity and compliance of our production operations.

Responsibilities
-Develop, update, and maintain technical system documentation.
-Program, configure, upgrade, and replace automation systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA).
-Conduct requirement analysis, risk assessments, and define scope.
-Perform and document FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ testing of systems.
-Support senior design engineers and project managers in project planning.
-Identify and resolve technical challenges proactively
-Report progress, risks, and deviations clearly to the project manager
-Collaborate with system integrators where required

Qualifications
-A proactive, hands-on team player with a passion for automation and innovation
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Automation and IT projects
-Strong technical skills in:
-PLC, DCS (e.g., Siemens, B&R)
-SCADA systems (e.g., iFix)
-Windows environments (workstations, servers, Active Directory)
-Experience in commissioning, cybersecurity, and industrial networks
-Previous work experience in Life Sciences/Pharma and knowledge of GAMP is a plus

Requirements
-Strong knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems, including upgrades, troubleshooting, and programming.
-Experience in working with external vendors and reviewing technical design packages.
-Familiarity with GMP environmentsautomation validation processes, and regulatory compliance standards.
-Basic understanding of IT systems relevant to automation (e.g., Windows Server, networking, OT/IT interface).
-Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work across departments and support colleagues.
-Dutch language proficiency is a plus, especially for shop floor interaction; English-only candidates are welcome if technically strong and team-oriented.
