About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to join the Engineering, Validation, and Maintenance (EVM) department. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding both people and processes through the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS systems. You’ll be the go-to expert for site safety practices and will support a dynamic technical team dedicated to ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities
Develop, improve, and oversee EHS policies, procedures, and systems across the site
Act as subject matter expert for core safety practices, including permit-to-work, LOTOTO, FARIP, working at heights, and hoisting
Provide hands-on coaching and training to EVM team members to raise safety awareness and competencies
Conduct risk assessments and contribute to project-related EHS evaluations
Lead or support safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure ongoing compliance with safety regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 14001)
Promote a proactive EHS culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives


Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
At least 5 years of professional experience in Environment, Health & Safety roles
Familiarity with international standards and certifications (e.g., ISO 14001)
Experience working in complex, regulated organizations
Strong communication and coaching skills with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders
Proven ability to implement sustainable EHS improvements
Fluency in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
Additional certification such as Primary Safety Expert (HVK) is highly desirable
