Within this environment, the Engineering-Validation-Maintenance (EVM) department plays a vital role in supporting utilities, production, laboratory areas, and critical equipment across the site.
Role description
As an EHS Compliance Engineer, you will be the driving force behind enhancing and maintaining a safe and compliant working environment. You’ll serve as the subject matter expert on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs, ensuring adherence to internal standards and external regulations. By leading risk assessments, improving safety protocols, and coaching the EVM team, you will have a direct impact on our operational excellence and safety culture.
Key responsibilities
- Improve and maintain EHS systems and safety procedures (e.g. LOTOTO, permit to work, working at heights)
- Conduct risk assessments and support safety evaluations for projects
- Lead/participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- Coach EVM team members on safety practices and culture
- Deliver EHS training and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and company standards
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- 5+ years of EHS experience, preferably in a regulated environment
- Familiar with ISO 14001 and safety management systems
- Strong communication, coaching, and change management skills
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- HVK certification or equivalent is a plus
