Role Description
As an Automation Engineer you will design, design, implement, and maintain automated systems, with a strong focus on Systech systems for packaging, serialization, and traceability in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The role involves optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless integration of automation technologies like PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA, and maintaining system performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated systems to improve manufacturing efficiency, focusing on Systech systems for packaging and serialization.
- Integrate and optimize Systech systems into existing processes to ensure smooth, compliant operations.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA, to minimize downtime.
- Manage the architecture and roadmap of automation systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and future improvements.
- Ensure automation processes comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards to maintain product quality and regulatory compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize systems, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality assurance, IT) to implement and support automation systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation for automation processes, including system changes, updates, and maintenance logs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and other automation technologies.
- Minimum 3 years in automation engineering with extensive experience in Systech systems. Experience with Vision systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in regulated environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot, optimize systems, and drive continuous improvement in automation solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
