Role Description
Maintenance Engineer responsible for troubleshooting and resolving equipment and utility issues in a newly commissioned biotech manufacturing facility, ensuring minimal downtime. The role involves coordinating technicians, vendors, and stakeholders while prioritizing and executing corrective and preventive maintenance activities. Additionally, the engineer drives root cause analysis, continuous improvements, and ensures compliance with GMP and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform troubleshooting on equipment and utilities to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities, including organizing technicians, vendors, and fellow engineers.
  • Oversee and prioritize corrective maintenance tasks based on equipment criticality and production schedules.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders at different levels to update on work progress and manage expectations.
  • Lead root cause analyses and problem-solving initiatives for equipment issues.
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are completed according to procedures, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Coach and mentor team members on maintenance techniques, safety, and best practices.
  • Review technical reports to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and monitor adherence to maintenance processes.


Requirements

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • 2-7 years of experience in facilities or maintenance engineering within the pharmaceutical or similar industry.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial manufacturing equipment and utilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder management abilities.
