Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Controller to join our client’s team in Dordrecht, Netherlands. In this key role, you will provide cost control support for major and minor capital projects and serve as the Fixed Asset Coordinator. Your expertise will ensure accurate financial reporting, effective change management, and proper asset management, supporting project teams and maintaining compliance with corporate policies.
Responsibilities:
-Manage monthly project financial reporting, including costs related to engineering, field expenses, equipment, and contingencies.
-Lead financial reviews for ongoing projects, analyzing project progress and expenditures.
-Maintain and update project change logs, process documentation, and routing approvals.
-Develop accurate expenditure forecasts by utilizing procurement data and project schedules.
-Support project and finance teams with transfer requests, expenditure reconciliation, and financial system updates.
-Oversee fixed asset records, ensuring asset removals, disposals, transfers, and sales are properly documented and compliant with SOX regulations.
-Coordinate physical verifications of fixed assets, including liaising with third parties as needed.
-Support audits related to fixed assets and capital expenditures, serving as a key contact.
-Facilitate communication with the Permanent Investment process center and other stakeholders to ensure smooth asset management and reporting.
-Contribute to continuous process improvements within the fixed asset and cost control functions.
-Participate in project gate reviews, steering meetings, and scope estimates to ensure alignment with financial best practices.
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
-At least 10 years of cost control experience on capital projects, preferably in the chemical or related industries.
-Solid understanding of financial management, project accounting, and expense forecasting.
-Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
-Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.
-Proven ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
-Technical or engineering background is preferred.
-Experience with multi-currency cost management is advantageous.
