Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Automation & Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team in Breda, The Netherlands. In this role, you will be responsible for managing manufacturing automation and information systems to support existing operations and drive new equipment implementations. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of manufacturing systems and automation projects according to schedule and budget
- Review and develop design documents including requirements specifications and line design documentation
- Ensure equipment complies with network security protocols, including domain settings and firewalls
- Maintain equipment security in line with company standards
- Provide regular progress updates to project management teams
- Implement automation standards for hardware and software
- Install and configure monitoring tools to maintain system health
- Participate in Data Integrity and system assessment activities
- Perform preventive maintenance on automation systems and contribute to related evaluations
- Advise on spare parts and create asset spare parts lists
- Develop backup and restore procedures, work instructions, and audit trail review protocols
- Support integration to data historians and other system interfaces
- Assist in factory acceptance testing (FAT), commissioning, and qualification activities
- Train maintenance, engineering, and operations staff on automation systems
- Provide on-the-floor operational support when needed
- Keep all relevant documentation up to date to ensure operational continuity
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Automation Engineering, Industrial Information Systems, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience supporting manufacturing automation and information systems in the biotech or pharmaceutical sectors
- Proven track record of managing projects independently in a cross-functional, global environment
- Strong understanding of automation hardware, software, and network security standards
