Role description
This role oversees a team of breakdown, maintenance, and planning technicians within a high?volume production environment. The position ensures all planned and unplanned maintenance activities are executed efficiently, preventive maintenance programs are optimized, and equipment uptime is maximized across production lines and installations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures and regulations.
- Lead, coach, motivate, and evaluate a team of approx. 20 technicians across 3?shift and day-shift operations.
- Promote and develop a culture of continuous improvement within the technical team.
- Manage both breakdown services and preventive maintenance operations to ensure efficient departmental performance.
- Develop and execute maintenance plans covering preventive tasks, malfunctions, repairs, minor modifications, and improvement projects.
- Periodically evaluate and optimize maintenance concepts for reliability, cost efficiency, and availability.
- Analyze malfunction and downtime data to implement maintenance improvements.
- Oversee daily management and reporting on equipment performance and team results.
- Provide periodic reporting of breakdowns, maintenance budget progress, and KPIs, and advise the Maintenance Manager on improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Completed technical education at HBO level.
- 5–10 years of relevant maintenance/technical experience.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical, result?oriented, stress?resistant, and skilled in prioritization.
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and reliability?focused maintenance.
