Job Description
The System Test Automation Engineer (C# / BDD / CI/CD) designs, develops, and maintains automated tests and supporting tools to verify system quality and reliability. The role focuses on integrating automation into system verification to reduce lead time, increase test coverage, detect issues earlier, and ensure consistent system-level performance.
The System Test Automation Engineer works closely with system testers, software developers, and enabling/framework teams to build maintainable automation aligned with product requirements and verification standards. They also contribute to improving test infrastructure, pipelines, and reporting visibility.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated system test scripts using modern automation frameworks and C#.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous verification and faster feedback loops.
- Collaborate with framework/enabler teams to request, validate, and implement required keywords, adapters, and tooling.
- Execute automated tests across different system configurations (physical and virtual) to assess reliability and performance.
- Analyse and improve automation stability by identifying root causes of flaky tests and optimising execution speed.
- Ensure test results are clearly reported and visible through dashboards and reporting tools to track system health and coverage.
- Participate in peer reviews to maintain high code quality, consistency, and reusability of automation components.
- Keep up to date with new automation approaches and tools, applying practical improvements where they add value.
- Align automation activities across multiple test domains to prevent gaps, overlaps, or duplicated effort.
- Contribute to cross-functional verification initiatives such as mainline readiness and nightly regression testing.
- Apply sound judgement in selecting automation methods to create stable, validated test evidence in a regulated environment.

Requirements
- Proven experience in test automation within a system testing or system verification context.
- Strong programming skills in C# (additional scripting experience such as Python is a plus).
- Experience with BDD-style frameworks such as Reqnroll, SpecFlow, Cucumber and Gherkin.
- Familiarity with test frameworks such as NUnit (or similar).
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD environments (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins) and using Git.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple engineering and test stakeholders.
- Structured, detail-oriented approach with an ownership mindset and focus on continuous improvement.
