About the Role
This position oversees the full lifecycle of critical utility systems, ensuring compliance, reliability, and operational efficiency. The role involves acting as a subject matter expert (SME) for design, commissioning, maintenance, and modification activities, while supporting projects and ensuring validated, inspection-ready systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide SME input during design and commissioning phases.
- Approve design documents, commissioning protocols, and SOPs.
- Ensure systems operate per standards, OEM recommendations, and regulations.
- Develop and approve maintenance plans and manage performance metrics.
- Evaluate system upgrades and lead decommissioning activities.
- Maintain asset records in CMMS and manage lifecycle cost data.
- Ensure compliance with validation and inspection requirements.
- Support audits, inspections, and periodic reviews.
- Act as SME in capital and OPEX projects, including FAT/SAT and handover.
- Approve operational changes and prioritise maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors/regulatory bodies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical preferred).
- Experience in GMP-regulated environments (pharma, biotech, food).
- Willingness to obtain NEN3140 certification.
- Knowledge of applicable legislation and utility systems (HVAC, compressed air, BMS, refrigeration, fire safety).
- Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch.

- On-call duty: 24/7 availability for one week per month.
