A global organization in the biotechnology sector is seeking a Senior Associate Clinical Supply Chain / Planner Buyer to support clinical studies worldwide. The department oversees end-to-end supply chain operations—from planning and sourcing to manufacturing and distribution—providing critical support to product development and global clinical programs. The environment is highly dynamic and regulated, offering exposure to complex supply networks, tech transfer activities, and cross-functional collaboration.

Role Description
In this role, you will manage Supply & Demand Planning and Source-to-Pay activities for a portfolio of external medicinal products used in international clinical studies. You will coordinate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and supply chain partners to ensure timely and compliant delivery of materials. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, stakeholder management, and a proactive approach to problem solving. You will also support system updates, documentation preparation, and process improvements across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate planning requirements into global supply plans by collaborating with Product Setup Leads, Supply Chain Leads, and Study Planners.
  • Work closely with suppliers, partners, and internal supply chain teams to ensure availability of clinical materials.
  • Conduct market assessments to define sourcing strategies based on availability, quality, documentation, expiry, pricing, and demand.
  • Resolve supply, sourcing, delivery, and invoicing issues impacting clinical timelines.
  • Coordinate labeling, packaging, and shipment activities with internal supply chain and contract manufacturing teams.
  • Support international shipments in collaboration with Global Trade functions.
  • Perform quarterly PO and invoice reconciliations; update costs and export pricing in ERP systems.
  • Execute ERP tasks such as SKU creation, master data maintenance, purchase order creation, and reporting.
  • Manage purchase requisitions in Ariba/MyBuy.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation in Veeva Vault and PLM.
  • Maintain trackers, dashboards, and shared platforms (Smartsheet, SharePoint).
  • Contribute to cross-functional improvement initiatives.

Requirements
  • Strong proficiency with digital tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Tableau).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and procurement systems like Ariba.
  • Familiarity with Veeva Vault and PLM systems.
  • Supply & demand planning experience is preferred.
  • Background in procuring comparator products or GMP materials is an advantage.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Solid analytical abilities with understanding of cost accounting.
  • Experience in project management or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in managing transport, including international import/export of medicinal products.
  • Certifications such as APICS, ISM, or Lean/Six Sigma are beneficial.
