Our client is a global biopharmaceutical company with a manufacturing site in Leiden focusing on biotherapeutic solutions. The site is part of a global supply-chain network and seeks to strengthen raw-material resilience.
Role Overview
Our Client is hiring a Material Management Specialist — Raw Material Dual Sourcing (Leiden). You will lead the evaluation, qualification and implementation of alternative raw materials for the site and represent Leiden within a global dual-sourcing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead dual-sourcing projects for raw materials: planning, execution and documentation (change controls).
- Coordinate cross-functionally with MSAT, Planning, Operations, Quality and Procurement.
- Perform technical assessments with SMEs to validate suitability of alternative materials.
- Manage supplier communication and vendor qualification activities.
- Implement supply-chain set-up for alternative materials (ERP updates, lot control, storage conditions).
- Govern GMP records related to materials and escalate potential impacts on schedule or cost.
- Represent the Leiden site in global dual-sourcing initiatives and share best practices.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Analytical (Bio)Chemistry or related discipline.
- 5–10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical / biopharma environment.
- Strong experience in supplier qualification, material introduction, and working within GMP.
- Demonstrable project management skills; able to lead cross-functional projects.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.
- Analytic mindset, attention to detail, proactive attitude.
- Experience with SAP/ERP, TrackWise/MasterControl/ZenQMS or eLIMS.
- Previous experience in excipient/protein raw material introductions.
- Knowledge of ICH/Ph. Eur./USP standards.
