Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support ATEX compliance projects in Veghel. The role focuses on mechanical analysis, documentation, and project coordination within an existing production environment. Specific ATEX expertise is not required, but strong knowledge of mechanical systems and process installations is essential. The assignment is 2 days per week with occasional extra days during critical phases such as production shutdowns.
Responsibilities
- Analysis and Participation – Performing ignition source analyses for mechanical equipment and processes. Attending project meetings and construction site discussions.
- Inventory and Documentation - Preparing ATEX inventories of mechanical equipment. Updating P&IDs using AutoCAD (modifications, coding, ATEX zone coloring, potential equalization).
- Technical Documentation - Drafting WTB sections for Basis of Design, purchase requests, RFQs, and technical specifications. Completing and updating the Technical Construction Dossier (TCD).
- Quality Control – Conducting FAT at suppliers, incoming inspections, and SAT in the plant.
- Project Coordination - Supervising execution of mechanical engineering aspects of the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in Mechanical Engineering or Process Technology.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the food and process industry.
- Experience working in brownfield environments.
- Knowledge of hygienic design (EHEDG), PED, and powder handling & transport.
- Key competencies: results-oriented, proactive, analytical, detail-focused, independent, hands-on, and a strong team player.
- Fluent Dutch required.
- Experience in food and chemical industries is an additional plus.
- Availability for 16hrs per week onsite.
