Role Description
We are recruiting for our client, a Senior Automation Engineer to join the Equipment Engineering department. You will be responsible for the automation aspects of new and upgraded manufacturing equipment, particularly within Device Assembly, Inspection, Labeling, and Packaging. This role involves design engineering, project execution, and operational support, ensuring equipment reliability and compliance with automation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Author and review automation design documents (URS, FDS, HDS, SDS)
- Support equipment installation, testing, and commissioning
- Manage automation deliverables across project timelines
- Implement and maintain automation standards and security protocols
- Conduct data integrity and preventive maintenance assessments
- Provide training and operational support to engineering and maintenance teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors during equipment lifecycle
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Automation Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automation within pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and vision systems (e.g., Cognex)
- Experience with labeling and packaging equipment
- Familiarity with GMP and regulated environments
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Strong project management and collaboration skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Experience with OSIsoft PI, automation spare parts planning, and data historian systems
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability in dynamic environments
- Willingness to occasionally work outside office hours
