Role Description
As a Facility Technician, you will join the Hard Services Maintenance Team to ensure the smooth daily operation of our office and laboratory facilities in Utrecht. Your role involves maintaining and troubleshooting technical systems—such as HVAC, electrical installations, and safety equipment—to help create a safe, efficient, and fully functioning workplace. Your efforts directly support our mission to improve the lives of cancer patients.
Responsibilities
- Performing routine and preventive maintenance on office buildings and laboratory facilities to ensure functionality and safety.
- Identifying and resolving issues in technical systems and installations.
- Recording and managing service requests using facility management software.
- Carrying out safety and compliance checks, including legionella testing.
- Overseeing external contractors during on-site maintenance work.
- Maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Assisting with facility-related projects, internal relocations, and event setups.
- Participating in the on-call service team for emergencies outside normal working hours.
Requirements
- Vocational (MBO) education in a technical field.
- VCA VOL safety certification.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar technical or facility support role.
- Prior experience working in a laboratory environment is a plus.
- Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
- Comfortable using MS Office and facility management tools.
