The Role
The role involves designing and developing mechanical components for personal care appliances from concept to mass production. You’ll work in a multidisciplinary team, leading design activities, prototyping, testing, and ensuring manufacturability. It combines hands-on engineering with leadership in innovation and technical decision-making.
Responsibilities

Design and detail mechanical components and systems for grooming and beauty appliances

Lead concept creation, prototyping, and testing to validate design performance

Ensure designs meet requirements for mass production, DFM/DFA, and quality standards

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electronics, systems, and manufacturing

Conduct design analyses (e.g., FEA), manage DFMEAs, and maintain documentation in PLM tools
- Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the engineering group

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3–5 years of experience in mechanical product development for mass production, preferably in consumer goods.

Proficient in 3D CAD software (Siemens NX and/or CREO) with strong knowledge of designing mechanical components in plastics and metals, including mass manufacturability, molding, and assembly tooling.

Experienced in engineering analysis tools such as FEA (Ansys), CFD, DFMEA, V-model methodology, and applying Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles.

Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills; proven ability to work effectively in international multidisciplinary teams, lead ideation sessions, manage project interfaces, and drive decisions.

Hands-on in prototype development, test planning, execution, and documentation; knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T); quality-driven with Six Sigma Green Belt certification considered a plus; medical device industry experience is an advantage.
