Role Description
As an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer at our pharmaceutical client in Leiden, you will drive the development and continuous improvement of site safety systems and coach EVM team members to enhance workplace safety. You’ll lead risk assessments, support audits, and implement sustainable EHS solutions aligned with both regulatory and company standards.
Responsibilities
-Overseeing, developing, and improving EH&S systems, processes, and practices.
-Leading or supporting the implementation of EH&S standards within your area of expertise.
-Coaching and developing EVM team members to raise safety awareness and performance.
-Conducting EH&S-related risk assessments.
-Supporting EH&S evaluations for site and project activities.
-Participating in internal and external audits and inspections (e.g., ISO 14001, regulatory bodies).
-Leading or participating in incident investigations.
-Developing and delivering EH&S training sessions.
Requirements
-Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the EH&S field.
-Experience with international Management System Standards such as ISO 1400
-Proven ability to work effectively in complex, multi-level organizations, especially during times of change.
-Proficiency in both spoken and written Dutch and English.
