Role Description
The Senior OT Engineer will join our OT team within the technical department Gerkesklooster - one of the largest cheese production locations. You will work on technical innovations and support the organization with project management, maintenance, and daily operations. This role involves maintaining and improving the factory’s automation systems. You will ensure that factory automation remains fully operational.
Responsibilities
- Coaching and fostering communication within the team, ensuring proactive collaboration.
- Coordinating operational processes, assigning tasks, and setting priorities for the team to achieve goals.
- Analyzing primary operational processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing improvements.
- Determining maintenance strategies based on business needs and risks.
- Monitoring and ensuring the execution of departmental plans, managing medium-term planning.
- Taking ownership of OT security, addressing improvement points identified in audits, root cause analyses, etc.
- Ensuring the availability and optimal deployment of capacity during maintenance and project handovers.
- You will report to the Maintenance Manager and work closely with a team of internal and external engineers.
Requirements
- Min 5 years of relevant experience in industrial automation or a similar field, preferably within the food or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong knowledge of Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal and Step7 classic).
- Familiarity with SCADA and MES systems (Aveva).
- Experience with industrial network systems (Profinet, Profibus, I/O-link, Ethernet).
- Knowledge of VMware, Wonderware, Microsoft Windows Server, and SQL databases.
- Understanding of ISA-88, ISA-95, and ISA-99 standards.
- Basic knowledge of Hirschmann.
- Strong competencies in being results-driven, independent, stress-resistant, team-oriented, coaching, decisive, analytical, innovative, and highly motivated.
