Role Description
As the Crane Inspector you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of crane and lifting activities across the Botlek, Maasvlakte, and Europoort sites. This role includes maintaining procedures, supporting audits, providing technical advice, and promoting a strong safety culture within the organization.
 

Responsibilities
-Support the Lifting Safety Officer (LSO) in maintaining the “P-OS-2211 crane and lifting” procedure, ensuring it is up to date with operational excellence (OE) and legal requirements.
-Assist during OE audits and ensure compliance.
-Coordinate with the LSO to inform the BoMa organization and contractors about any updates to the lifting procedures.
-Assist in developing and delivering training programs for lifting operations within BoMa.
-Conduct field rounds to ensure all parties understand and follow the crane and lifting procedures.
-Participate in weekly safety meetings and contribute to the promotion of a safety-first culture.
-Analyze and report findings monthly to the HSE department based on lifting procedures.
-Maintain a comprehensive list of approved cranes and operators entering the sites.
-Collect, archive checklists, and document the use of plant cranes in the Crane and Rigging Management System.
-Act as a technical advisor for crane-related queries within maintenance and operations.
-Inspect cranes, truck-mounted cranes, and related lifting equipment for proper certification and documentation.
-Ensure all lifting tools are inspected, and follow up on any issues, particularly within maintenance workshops.
-Oversee and co-sign work permits, especially for non-routine and critical lifts.
-Provide technical advice and support for site crane contractors.
-Ensure the technical quality of plant cranes and the execution of lifting operations.
 

Requirements
-Proven experience in crane operations and lifting activities.
-Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards related to crane operations.
-Ability to conduct thorough inspections and maintain detailed records.
-Excellent communication and training skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Fluency in English and Dutch
-Certification in crane operations or safety management is a plus
-Experience working in industrial settings is a plus
-Familiarity with Crane and Rigging Management Systems is a plus
