Our client is one of the leads from the Biotechnology industry who try to improve patients’ lives by distributing their medicines to hospital and pharmacies in 100 different countries in the world, to over 10 million patients, in Europe, Turkey, Middle East and Africa Regions.

Role description
A Global Study Planner plays a critical role in this mission by independently managing demand and supply planning for clinical studies on a global scale. This position ensures the availability and efficient use of drug supplies from study initiation through to study closure, supporting clinical trials that contribute to the development of innovative medicines. 

Responsibilities 

  • Executing demand and supply planning processes for assigned clinical studies, typically managing fewer than 10 studies at a time. Ensuring consistent drug product supply from study start to last patient dosed, and through to study closure. Coordinating packaging and labeling orders to meet the latest demand forecasts. Maintaining supply readiness for new studies.
  • Managing operational inventory efficiently to ensure an adequate supply while minimizing waste throughout the study duration. Balancing inventory levels with scrap risk, adhering to management guidelines.
  • Representing the planning team in improvement initiatives and cross-functional meetings. Communicating supply chain management strategies and updates to key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding. Participating in and lead forecasting meetings with study managers based in the UK or US.
  • Identifying and escalating risks that could impact study timelines or clinical supplies to key stakeholders and management. Resolving logistical conflicts that could affect studies and research and development (R&D) milestones. Ensuring supplies are not on the critical path for any study.
  • Managing performance using the daily SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity) Performance Board. Adhering to supply and demand-driven metrics and measures to track progress and address issues.
  • Utilizing forecasting systems, SAP, hospital inventory and dosing systems, dashboard controls, and internal documents for daily activities and supply chain management. Identifying, reviewing, and updating procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Actively participating in planning meetings to understand project needs, priorities, and timelines and suggesting and implementing improvements to existing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in supply planning, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines impacting clinical supplies.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Good to have – basic understanding of regulatory guidelines relevant to clinical supplies.
