Role description
As an Assembly Manufacturing Engineer, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to driving continuous improvement in one of the most advanced manufacturing sites in Europe. You will contribute to the production of millions of advanced products, supporting the Operations department through process optimization and innovation. You will be part of a young, skilled, and highly motivated Production Engineering team, working closely with colleagues across the organization to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction. 

Responsibilities

  • Leading initiatives that enhance problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership, resulting in continuous improvement within the Philips organization.
  • Ensuring that manufacturing processes align with customer needs, empower employees, and improve workplace activities.
  • Developing and maintaining manufacturing processes, workflows, and equipment to support the Operations department in meeting its goals.
  • Contributing to the factory of the future by continuously improving processes and integrating innovative new technologies.
  • Managing the transfer of new products to the factory for mass production by developing efficient manufacturing processes and mitigating risks.
  • Working closely with the Site Manufacturing Engineering team and other stakeholders to achieve operational goals.
  • Identifying root causes of equipment failures and developing sustainable solutions.
  • Overseeing the creation and maintenance of operator instructions, critical parameters, checklists, training materials, and training plans.
  • Recommending necessary processes, technical expertise, and tooling to optimize production runs.
  • Leading the developing of assembly processes through parameter optimization, DOE experiments, and trials.
  • Leading and participating in continuous improvement projects at the department level.
  • Representing Operations in multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring alignment with production needs.
  • Facilitating the introducing of new products from Development to Operations, specifying requirements and ensuring smooth transitions. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering.
  • Eagerness to learn about current assembly processes and contribute to production improvements.
  • Ability to transform knowledge into practical, actionable solutions.
  • Strong skills in diagnosing and solving complex problems.
  • Capability to lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams in problem-solving and project execution.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English is required.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and improvement techniques is an advantage.
