Role description:

As an Electrical Facilities Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing. They ensure the proper functioning, maintenance, and safety of electrical equipment, and systems, and lead and manage electrical installation and engineering projects in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment. The Facility Engineer (Electrical) collaborates with cross-functional teams to support facility operations, troubleshoot electrical issues, and implement improvement initiatives. They also provide technical expertise and guidance in electrical engineering projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, project management abilities, and a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct plant, contractors, and suppliers in installing and troubleshooting electrical equipment. Perform early analysis and project definition for electrical engineering projects, including design, prototyping, and feasibility analysis.
  • Prepare proposals, reports, and presentations on project status, making recommendations for changes to ensure timely completion. Ensure compliance with NEN 3140 installation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Take a lead role in the architectural structure and development of projects. Identify and report issues and risks that may impact compliance, downtime, or financial plans. Support other departments or projects based on business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, EHS, and quality regulations and manage improvement plans. Manage EHS and quality-related items, including incident reporting, deviation investigation, and compliance with electrical requirements.
  • Prepare performance reports for the department head. Independently plan, prioritize, and deliver small projects or programs. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Troubleshoot facility services and systems, both GMP and non-GMP utilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and develop knowledge in technical and business disciplines.
  • Serve as the Facilities Engineer, supporting the Facilities Supervisor on site. Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills in Dutch (NL) is mandatory and English is a plus. Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external contractors/suppliers.

Requirements:
 

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and 5 to 7 years of experience. Ideally, prefer candidates with a background in technical or facilities-related roles.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a project lead, preferably in a GMP environment. GMP experience certificates and knowledge of NEN 3140 installation and electrical projects are mandatory.
  • Experience in building-related projects, assembly sites, medical devices, wastewater systems, and pest control in the regulated industry is preferred. Proven track record of at least 5 years in Facilities Management.
  • Strong technical skills in EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety), Quality Management, and facilities engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch (NL) and English. Demonstrates integrity and takes actions based on the company’s Credo.

  • Collaborative and adept at working in teams to achieve common goals. Demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing tasks and addressing issues.
