About the role
In this role you will become involved in various projects where the assessment and qualification of new chemicals is central. You do this on the basis of specifications and certain themes, including: safety, environment and usability. You then process this in the company’s systems.
Responsibilites
-Responsible for managing substance data in the EHS substance database, including entering, modifying, and verifying data.
-Classifying mixtures of substances, including waste, and checking classifications of proprietary & vendor substances.
-Checking and formatting SDSs and hazard labels, and identifying substances with legal restrictions.
-Drafting and modifying dust risk documents and maintaining compliance with laws and regulations regarding hazardous substances.
-Communicating changes in substance risk data, documents, procedures, labels, and regulations to stakeholders and serving as a liaison for procurement, quality, IT, and SHE.
Qualifications
-Proficient in using SAP and Excel for substance management tasks.
-Able to interpret SDSs and other sources of substance risk information.
-Knowledge and application of calculation rules in the CLP and legal requirements regarding SDSs (REACH).
-Familiarity with various chemicals laws and regulations (REACH, CLP, PGS-15, ADR) and other regulations (Drug and explosive precursors, ZZS substances, ABM, Opium act, Substance of Concerns, Biocide).
-Basic understanding of physical, chemical, and toxicological properties of substances, and effective communication skills for various stakeholders.
