Role Description
As a Research Associate in the R&D Nutrition department, you will support the development and validation of health-benefit claims by conducting vitro digestion and cell-based studies. Working closely with life science researchers in the laboratory, you will contribute to high-quality, science-driven research in a hands-on role.
Responsibilities
• Design, plan, and perform in vitro digestion and cell culture experiments
• Execute (cell-based) biochemical assays with high accuracy
• Analyze, interpret, and report experimental data
• Ensure proper lab functioning and maintain safety procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams
• Take initiative in laboratory organization and contribute to multiple ongoing projects
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (HBO/HLO) in Life Sciences or a related field
• 2–3 years of hands-on lab experience in cell biology and microbiology
• Proficiency with in vitro digestion and cell culturing (gut, airway, immune cells)
• Experience with qPCR and/or dPCR is a plus
• Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills
• Proactive, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects
• Fluent in English; Dutch not required
• Team player with a hands-on mentality and structured working style
